Feeling run down? Fatigued? Or unmotivated?
I’m there with you and am still trying to crack the code on exactly how long or short a “power-nap” needs to be to actually work (which is somewhat like figuring out how many licks it takes to get to the center of a tootsie pop).
I’ve sought out every energy-boosting tip, trick, and hack the internet has to offer, but I continue to have low-energy days. On days when I’m experiencing not only physical fatigue but also mental/emotional/spiritual fatigue, I need to recourse to the source of life itself—God.
God has provided us with encouragement through his Word for the times when we feel tired and weary. These ten Bible verses can help you find the energy you need to continue carrying out God’s will for your life in your daily duties.
Ten Bible Verses for When You Feel Tired or Have Low Energy
Even on days when you feel like you can barely get out of bed, God has the power to move you with his Holy Spirit. Ask the Holy Spirit to revitalize your desire to do God’s will today. If one of these ten verses stands out to you, I encourage you to look it up in a Bible and spend time with it in the context of its larger chapter.
I. Psalm 143: 7-8
“Hasten to answer me, Lord; for my spirit fails me. Do not hide your face from me, lest I become like those descending to the pit. At dawn let me hear of your kindness, for in you I trust.”
II. Isaiah 40: 31
“They that hope in the Lord will renew their strength, they will soar on eagles’ wings. They will run and not grow weary, walk and not grow faint.”
III. Matthew 11: 28-30
“Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart; and you will find rest for yourselves. For my yoke is easy, and my burden light.”
IV. Mark 10: 42-42
“Jesus summoned them and said to them, “You know that those who are recognized as rulers over the Gentiles lord it over them, and their great ones make their authority over them felt. But it shall not be so among you. Rather, whoever wishes to be great among you will be your servant; whoever wishes to be first among you will be the slave of all.”
V. John 15: 2
“He takes away every branch in me that does not bear fruit, and every one that does he prunes so that it bears more fruit.”
VI. John 15: 5
“I am the vine, you are the branches. Whoever remains in me and I in him will bear much fruit, because without me you can do nothing.”
VII. Philippians 4: 6-7
“Have no anxiety at all, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, make your requests known to God. Then the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.”
VIII. 1 Thessalonians 16: 18
“Rejoice always. Pray without ceasing. In all circumstances give thanks, for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus.”
IX. Hebrews 13: 1-2
“Let mutual love continue. Do not neglect hospitality, for through it some have unknowingly entertained angels.”
X. Hebrews 13: 16
“Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have; God is pleased by sacrifices of that kind.”
XI. Genesis 2: 2-3 (Bonus)
This verse is too important to leave out, so I had to add it on as a bonus verse. Most of the verses I’ve shared offer encouragement to keep going and push through your fatigue. Sometimes what we really need to do is just take a break. So, let’s close this post with a Bible verse that reminds us of the importance of rest.
“Since on the seventh day God was finished with the work he had been doing, he rested on the seventh day from all the work he had undertaken. So God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it he rested from all the work he had done in creation.”
I hope you found some of these Bible verses to be encouraging, and I’m praying that you will be revitalized by the Holy Spirit to continue fulfilling God’s plans for your life in big and small matters.
Please share this with a friend or family member who needs some uplifting today as well!
